Video Performance Collaboration with Willoughby Lucas-Hastings, 2020
The artists created personas of identities often associated with conservative voting and formed a fake country music band called State of Verbama. The band name is a play on the socially-distanced nature in which they made the piece in their home states Vermont and Alabama, as the pandemic caused by COVID19 didn't allow them to create together in person. The three original songs that form their debut EP Verbama Nights were released leading up to the 2020 election.
The songs were written by Thalia Berard in collaboration with Cadmar Haynes, Nailah Hunter, and Jack McLaughlin.
